Sandmeyer Steel Company started producing stainless steel and nickel alloy plate and plate products in 1952. It remains our only business, and we know it better than anyone. In an effort to better service our customers, we are leveraging our specialty plate expertise to the stainless steel and nickel alloy tubular market, making Sandmeyer Steel our customers’ one-stop source for specialty plate and welded tubular products.

We will utilize our 18 million pound inventory (the largest in North America) of 45 alloys to assure our customers on-time deliveries.

Welded Pipe and Tubing and Structural Shape Capabilities

Size Range for Welded Pipe and Tubing:

• Pipe: 4" NPS through 48" NPS, schedule 5 through 160
• Tubing: 4.5" OD through 48" OD
• Walls: .1875" through 3"
Long lengths without a circumferential weld and produced with one longitudinal weld seam.


• Rolled and Welded Cylinders: diameters up to 96"
Walls from .1875" through 2" thick can be autogenously welded (without filler metal) for complete conformance to the ASME SA-312 specification.

Size Range for Structural Shapes:

• Squares: 3" x 3" through 24" x 24"
• Rectangles: 3" x 4" through 23" x 24"
• Walls: .1875" through 1" thick
Structural sizes through 12" x 12" x 5/8" wall thickness are produced from tube rounds having one longitudinal weld seam. Larger sizes and heavier wall thicknesses may have two longitudinal seams.

Round plate is a natural expansion of our extensive stainless steel and nickel alloy plate inventory. It will provide our customers with a one-stop source for these complimentary products.
